Dear Friends,

Thank you to everyone that participated in the 2012 King Cup Soccer Tournament. I know there are a lot of soccer events all across the world and I want to express my gratitude to you for choosing to participate in my event. The general response to the tournament so far has been great. I really appreciate your feedback it helps me improve the tournament year after year. I love producing this event. It was a great time for me and my team. Thank you from making it so fun. I hope you all had a blast.

I want to congratulate the following teams on their excellent showing. In the Over 35 division the Ottawa Royals were able to triumph over Last year’s Champs Avanti FC in a 4 to 1 PK show down. In the Over 40 Martin division Azeri beat Aftershock 3 to Nil. In the Over 40 Luther division Ashour FC overcame the CAZ Rangers in a close game with a 2 to 1 victory. In the Over 40 King division St James Gate had a well fought triumph on LA-DC united, winning by a goal with a 3 to 2 victory. The boys from Santa Cruz, El Cartel, made a great showing against Arizona and won 2 to Nil taking the Over 40 Junior division. In a heated match, El Farolito beat the San Jose Alborz taking the Over 40 Competitive division in a 3 to 1 victory. Two great teams from California battled it out in the Over 48 Martin division with the OC Spurs claiming 2 goals to best the White Harte FC’s single shot to the back of the net. The Over 48 Luther division drew to a close in a tie and then went to PK’s with LA Persopolis Triumphing over Kourosh 8 to 7. The Over 48 Competitive division(king) the Californian’s Real Marin beat Seattle’s FTI by one well placed ball 1 to Nil. In the Over 55 division Seattle took revenge on California in a 2 Nil Showing with Holcam beating the San Jose Pars. The youngest and oldest divisions were won by our friends to the north. The SC Eurostars took the Over 60 division, beating the San Diego Kickers 3 to Nil.

The biggest regret I have from this year’s tournament is being forced to disqualify a championship team on a technicality. One of their players forgot his ID and was only able to produce a photo copy of an ID so in honor of the rules the team had to be disqualified. I express my deepest regrets in making this tough decision but it was the only decision I was able to make. We also had to eject some players from the final because their names were missing from the roster. On a much brighter note, this year’s honorable mention goes to the gentlemen from San Francisco, East Bay Tecball/Bass. Their consolation match victory celebration was so enthusiastic even the losing team was cheering for them! Nice work my friends, well done. Please send me all your insights and thoughts about the tournament.

About The Tournament:

We are 100% Full! The King Cup is Soccer in Sun’s longest running tournament. The tournament was started in 1996 by my good friend Adrian Eyre. As a Frenchman, Adrian always had a passion for travel and soccer. He combined these passions and created Soccer In Sun, a premier soccer event organization. We have carried on his vision and continue to provide amazing sporting events around the country. Last year the King cup was attended by 146 teams from all over the world. This year we have made some significant changes to bracketing thus increasing the competitiveness of the tournament and have added an over 60 division making room for 164 teams.

We have also worked hard to get 2 hotels under contract.  We have 300 rooms at the Monte Carlo Hotel at $134 for Friday and Saturday Night and only $79 on Sunday(averaging just $119 per night).  We also have Harrah’s at $89 For Friday and Saturday and only $69 on Sunday (averaging just $82 dollars per night).  Please book your hotels through Lori.  We really appreciate the business.  Click here to book.
